Demi Chef De Partie - InterContinental - Muscat - Oman

§         Set-up daily mis-en-place as per standards.
§         Observes and tastes food when being cooked, ensures that food is prepared according to recipes in classical and culinary manner.
§         Maintains effective employee relations.
§         Records all recipes in his own Recipe Book.
§         Supervising, co-ordinating and participating in the preparation of all Stocks, Soups, Sauces, Daily Specials, Theme Night preparation and any cooked items for the Kitchen.
§         Listens to guest complaints, comments and ensure proper action plan is prepared by the Chef is followed.
§         Checks the daily menu, function sheets, par stocks, to determine the type and quality of food items to be prepared.
§         Prepares the requisition for groceries and food items based on par stock.  
§         Follows all training classes which are held in the hotel.
§         Assist the Chef-in-charge in conducting on and off job training for the Kitchen Staff.
§         Ensures and meets the highest hygiene standards and guides concerned colleagues to maintain and achieve the standards consistently.
§       To assist your Outlet Manager in maintaining and updating the depatmental       Service Standards Manual.
§         To have a good knowledge of all hotel facilities and be able to answer guest     questions in a quick, polite and helpful manner.
§         To handle any guest complaints or problems promptly and to ensure that all resolved/unresolved incidents are reported to your Outlet Manager.
§         To ensure the departmental area is maintained in a safe, hygienic and presentable state and to report any damage to furniture, fittings and equipment to your Outlet Manager.

Jobs in Huxley Associates - Oman

The Geologist performs all major geologic duties for assigned oil and gas fields. This includes providing structure and other maps of the fields that document the extent of hydrocarbons.

The geologist represents geologic concerns at Asset Team meeting, and works closely with team members to manage reservoirs.

The geologist uses Petrel, Landmark Graphics and other software to create maps and well plans for new wells. The Geologist responsibilities include but not limited to: Update existing maps and construct new maps as necessary to provide a geologic framework for oil and gas fields Identify new development well locations Prepare new well proposals that include targets for horizontal wells and supporting maps and cross sections Monitor drilling activity of wells in assigned fields, and work with drilling and operation team members to insure goals of wells are met Prepare geologic studies of fields that include estimates of fluid contacts, reservoir distribution, and structural configuration Recommend and manage contracted geologic studies of fields Integrate core and other geologic data to build reservoir descriptions Prepare/maintain static geologic models for assigned fields that include structural configuration and reservoir distribution for field
development planning and volumetric assessment. Requirements (Minimum education required, background, experience, skills)

1. Bachelor Degree and/or Master Degree in Geology.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience as geologist.
3. Strong English reading, writing and speaking skills.
4. Strong computer mapping skills, preferably with Landmark Graphics or Petrel
5. Extensive experience using subsurface data to recommend and plan new well locations.
6. Knowledge of core analysis applications.
7. Basic understanding of formation logging and petrophysical analysis.
8. Experience with Petrel and building static models preferred but not required.

Assistant / Associate Professor , Department of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy

Applications for Assistant/Associate Professor for the Department of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy are invited. Applicants should be medically qualified (or Pharm. D.) and have at least one higher qualification (e.g. FRCP or PhD) from an accredited institution. They should have an acceptable number of publications in peer-reviewed international journals and have proven clinical and teaching skills.

Successful candidates will be expected to involve themselves in the teaching of basic/ clinical pharmacology and therapeutics to undergraduate/postgraduate students and Masters for Clinical Pharmacy students. The applicant should also have the necessary computing skills essential in modern teaching. Experience in bioequivalence studies and/or clinical trials would be considered as an advantage.
