Job Description: Develop detailed structural construction packages for the mining and petrochemical industry projects.
Prepare calculations and technical reports, verify codes and engineering standards of practice;
Analyzing configurations of the basic structural components of a building or other structure;
Resolve issues or problems concerning conflicting design requirements, specifications and/or difficult coordination requirements;
Liaising with other designers, to agree on safe designs and their fit with the aesthetic concept of the construction;
Investigating ground conditions and analyzing results of site tests, such as soil samples;
Liaising with construction contractors to ensure that newly erected buildings are structurally sound;
Responsible for keeping projects on schedule and meeting all submittal milestones;
Attend site visits to determine design constraints and compliance with applicable codes, standards and construction documents;
Develop and/or manage detailed engineering drawings including design constraints and interconnection with existing installation.
Participate in preparation of Engineering proposal;
Assist clients throughout procurement process and during construction period;
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have a civil engineer background, Professional Engineer registration in the State of Utah, Advanced computer skills. Experience in the Mining and/or petrochemical design is an asset.
Ten years of experience in structure engineer design and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
