Assignment is on a work/leave cycle of 12 weeks on x 2 weeks off, 6 days a week, 10 hours per day.
A minimum of 10 years experience in commissioning, preferably in downstream, is required.
Commissioning methodology will be OPERCOM©; previous exposure/knowledge of this commissioning methodology will be an advantage.
Commissioning Supervisors will be fully integrated within the End User Commissioning team and shall in particular (but not limited to):
- witness and monitor Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning activities and ensure their right delivery in accordance to the agreed standards.
- be fully responsible to assure that all checks and tests are performed successfully (punch list cleared following EPCC contractual requirements)
- be responsible to raise punch items for each discipline and collect End User database for follow-up.
- monitor punch items in order to bring the subsystem to the completion stage
- provide the support during the Start-up activities which shall begin with the final preparation to the introduction of the feedstock into the plant

The major commissioning activities will cover:
1.5 Steam blowing by using boiler
1.6 Air blowing or water flushing by using permanent equipment
1.7 After completion of the flushing and blowing, each Sub System or system or Vendor’s package will be brought to a state of readiness to introduce hydrocarbons. As a result, specialists of this discipline shall witness, monitor and check the following
EPCC contractor activities:
1.7.1 Degreasing for particular systems
1.7.2 Operational Tightness test
1.7.3 System drying to remove moisture from closed system, where required
1.7.4 Catalyst, desiccant and chemical loading
1.7.5 Inerting to remove oxygen until safety limit for introduction of hydrocarbons.
1.8 As per requirements specified in the applicable specifications and drawings, check the internals of all mechanical equipment. Major equipment will consist of Columns, Drums and vessels, Reactors, Furnaces, Boilers, Storage tanks, Filters.
1.9 Conduct major verification on items included in each package for inspection of equipment and associated auxiliaries. Main activities for this task shall include the following:
1.9.1 Internal component installation in accordance with vendor documents.
1.9.2 Internal cleanliness, removal of tools, scaffolding etc. for each vessel and column before manways and/or man-holes are closed.
1.9.3 Use of proper gaskets / bolts for man-ways and/or man-holes and other vessel openings.
1.9.4 Safety equipment installation; specifically the status of the equipment isolation (blanks, blinds and spades, not operational drains and vents.
1.9.5 Major action items include in each combustion equipment work package for boilers and fired heaters which may include Conducting functional check of auxiliary equipment/facilities
1.9.6 Witness and verify function of the burner management system (BMS) when burner is initially ignited.
1.9.7 Follow, check, witness, and monitor the work done by EPCC contractor for Flame Detector Adjustment and Settings
1.9.8 Follow, check, witness, and monitor the work done by EPCC contractor for Drying refractory during initial firing
